Gibson Freight Transport PTY LTD

Gibson Freight Transport supplies the Gibson Freight Group with a high specification fleet of company owned and operated Kenworth and DAF vehicles operating from Gibson Freight terminals.

Our fleet include Swinglift Trailers in each location along with container forklifts which operate from our company owned and operated container parks in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The core business of Gibson Transport is ex-wharf FCL and LCL trucking – either direct to client premises or via Gibson Freight container parks and terminals – extending to international airfreight pick up and delivery services.

Gibson Freight Transport has a niche business handling transportation for international events such as Formula One, MotoGP, Supercars, World Superbikes and numerous concert, stage and theatrical events.

Almost all Gibson Freight Transport movements are undertaken by company owned vehicles operated by long term permanent company employees.

Services extend to include the global importation and exportation movements of high end motor vehicles – including race, commercial or classic cars – including customs brokerage, the creation of customs carnets where required and the execution of quarantine formalities.

Gibson Freight also provides event logistics services and infrastructure (airfreight pallet build and break, specialist labor and trucks) to the concert, stage and theatre industries in collaboration with international industry leader Rock-It Global.

Services include the chartering and on airport ground handling of aircraft, primarily 747 and 777 freighter operations for Linfox owned Avalon Airport, Victoria, Australia – for motorsport and entertainment industries.

General cargo vessel chartering on either single voyage or fixed term is also available.

Gibson Freight China LTD (Trading as Gibson Cargo Services)

Gibson Cargo Services (a joint venture with Cargo Services Far East) was established in China for the purpose of offering small, medium and large retail businesses a complete and flexible end to end logistical service – into Australia and other global destinations.

With head office located in Hong Kong and a further 18 offices throughout China, Gibson Cargo Services has the ability to offer complete FOB services in China – including but not limited to consolidation, storage, pick and pack, scan pack – along with complete destination and cross trade services – all through a single point of contact.

With facilities and staff in both China and Australia, plus affiliated Gibson Cargo Services partners in other global locations, air and sea services are consolidated at a Gibson Cargo Services facility in China and SE Asia, and deconsolidated at the Gibson Freight Australia or other global facilities upon arrival.

Gibson Freight Fiji PTY LTD

Gibson Freight Fiji was established in 1991 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Gibson Freight (Australia) Pty Ltd to initially service the developing textile, clothing and footwear (TCF) industry in Fiji.

Once established, Gibson Freight Fiji was able to fulfil the need for the forwarding of fabric and other components primarily from Australia, China and New Zealand to Fiji and for the distribution from Fiji of finished product to customers globally.

Three Fiji locations, Nadi Airport, Suva and Lautoka were developed to provide a door to door service for Australian and global TCF customers – all through a single point of contact utilising Gibson Freight staff and infrastructure.

As the Fiji TCF industry specialises in short lead times and small production runs, Gibson Freight Fiji ensures that product produced and packed in Fiji on any given weekday are at the point of sale in Australian capital cities on Monday of the following week, using regular air freight services.

Larger production runs from various Fiji factories destined for single or multiple customers can be consolidated into ocean freight containers by Gibson Freight Fiji and shipped for clearance, warehousing and delivery by the Gibson Freight Group companies in Australia, NZ, USA or associates world wide.

A fourth Gibson Freight Fiji company location was later established at Port Denarau to primarily service the Fiji tourism and resort industries. Logistical services that drew synergies with the group’s activities in Australia and New Zealand were established to support Fiji’s resort, hospitality, convention, trade fair, duty free and conference industries.

The establishment of Gibson Freight China Ltd offered further support to all Fijian industries – including to the Fiji TCF and resort industries – through additional logistical services for product sourced in China and shipped through to Fiji through a selection of either full container or consolidated sea freight services or regular airfreight services.

In 2017 and again in 2019, Gibson Freight Fiji built new facilities in both Suva and Nadi to further service traditional TCF and resort business as well as support the Fiji health and government sectors.

Gibson Freight continues to support various charities in Fiji and remains a prominent member of the board of the Australia Fiji Business Council.
